Weight loss scams are designed to prey upon the women that just had babies, middle aged men and overweight teens with low self esteem. These general groups of people are often depressed about their weight, physical appearance and general life situations making them easier targets for the over zealous scam artist. I don't mean to suggest that everyone that is overweight lacks self esteem or is depressed will fall for the weight loss scams it just makes it more difficult to tell the difference between a quality weight loss system and a weight loss myth scam.
Weight Loss Scams come in all kinds of forms. A common type of weight loss scam that people fall for are those products that use aggressive advertising that promise to help you lose weight without any effort on your part. They show you a fancy before and after picture, maybe a brief testimonial by the so call user of the product, and use very medical sounding language to make you think the weight loss product is the real deal. Other types of weight loss scams that people fall include programs that require membership fees and a multi-year contract all to gain access to their weight loss system. Yeah they make you feel like your getting a value and usually they start out mild enough but before you know it they are trying to push all kinds of weight loss products, exercise equipment and food supplements down your throat. If your lucky you escape this type of weight loss program before they close their doors and flee town.
I don't want you to think that all weight loss programs, exercise and fitness centers and weight loss products are bogus because truth be known there are many types of medications, systems, diets and exercise programs on the market today that can help you lose weight in a healthy fashion.
